My country of origin is the United States.  I am from the South originally, but have lived in the North for about 20 years. However, I still feel a deep kinship with my southern roots.

The Academic achievement I am most proud of is my education. I never thought I would get the opportunity to go to college, but when I moved to Indiana, my employer paid for my college courses.  It took me 8 years to graduate, taking three classes each semester while working full-time. There were times when I never thought I would graduate, but I did, and I graduated debt free!  I was also on the Dean’s and/or Honor’s List each semester.  Then ten years later, I had the opportunity to get my Master’s in Business Administration.  It didn’t take me as long to obtain the MBA as the undergraduate degree, and I was able to graduate debt free from the Master’s program as well.

My favorite area of research is technology. Since I teach many of my classes online, I particularly appreciate research in the area of technology and how it can be used in the classroom to engage students in the learning process.

My favorite foods would be vegetables. I enjoy a variety of foods, but my favorite foods are the ones I grow in my garden.  It is most rewarding to go to your own garden, pick the food that you have nurtured, and bring it into the house to cook it and serve it fresh and chemical-free.

Something interesting about myself would be I enjoy learning, and I absolutely love to read to help me learn new things!  I am always reading a how-to book, a “mindless” book (just for pure enjoyment…no quiz to be taken), a spiritual book, and an educational book simultaneously.  Each day, I will read a little bit from each book.
